Typhoon May Hit Guangdong this Weekend

On the evening of June 8, in the flooded village road of Langba village, Zhengguo Town, Zengcheng, Guangzhou, a villager tried to drive a motorcycle across the water, but the water was too deep and the motorcycle was dead, so he had to push it forward.


On June 9, a flood occurred in Fogang Longshan Town, Qingyuan, Guangdong Province. Houses were flooded and villagers rowed in and out. 



According the the Department of Emergency Management, and the Department of Natural Resources and Meteorological Bureau of Guangdong Province, this year's June rainfall has set a historical record.


(June 11), at a press conference held by the office of the people's Republic of China, ye Jianchun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of water resources, introduced the situation of flood and drought disaster prevention
At present, China has entered the flood season in an all-round way. There are 148 rivers with floods above the warning water level. The first flood of this year occurred in both the Xijiang River and Beijiang River in the Pearl River Basin, and floods occurred in some areas.


Liu Zhiyu, director of the hydrological and water resources monitoring and forecasting center of the Ministry of water resources, said:


In this year's flood season, China's climate is generally biased, with more extreme events. Regional rainstorms and floods are more serious than the year-round, and floods are more serious than droughts.

At 3:35 a.m., this morning, the Hong Kong Observatory announced that the tropical cyclone now over the Philippines will continue to intensify, but there remain uncertainties in its intensity and subsequent movement. According to the current forecast, the tropical cyclone will enter the northern part of the South China Sea on Friday night, and edge closer to the coast of Guangdong during the weekend. The local weather is expected to deteriorate on Sunday, and it will be windy with squally showers. There will still be showers next Monday and Tuesday.





According to @ Guangdong weather, temperatures are expected to rise in the next three days (11-13) before rain on the 14th.  We'll continue to monitor the situation and will publish updates on ShekouDaily.com should the situation deteriorate.
